ACCIO GROUP CARVES DEAL TO SPONSOR SKI TEAM

As part of our ongoing commitment to support worthy causes, Accio Group has announced a sponsorship package for the Royal Artillery Alpine Club (RAAC) totaling £15k.

Accio Group's sponsorship has come at a pivotal time for the RAAC. Without it, the club's annual competition was under threat, which would have been a huge blow to the morale of the military personnel, many of whom have recently returned from active service in Afghanistan.

Now in its 18th season, the RAAC annual training and racing schedule began in December in Alpe D'Huez, France. The programme provides the opportunity for 60 service men and women from across the Royal Artillery to learn how to ski, race train and compete in alpine ski racing events, including individual and team slalom, giant slalom and super giant slalom races. This season the RAAC is also teaching 20 novice skiers how to race, which would have been impossible without Accio Group's support.

Stephen Casey, Managing Director at Accio Group, said: "Accio Group is committed to providing support to worthy causes. I believe it is vital for companies like us to sustain this during times of uncertain economic stability. The skiing provides a unique opportunity to boost the morale of the military personal that are fighting for our country in Afghanistan and I am delighted to assist them with their excellent programme."

Stephen Casey spent almost 20 years in the British Army and was one of the Armed Forces' youngest ever Majors. During this time serving his country he became a fully qualified ski instructor and continued to run the RAAC ski programme even after he left the Army to launch Accio Group.

Colonel Jonathan Calder-Smith, Colonel Army Recruiting, added: "This sponsorship deal is vital to the future of the RAAC. It has given a greater number of skiers the opportunity to take part and has also allowed for more race training days with an extra instructor, helping to keep class sizes down. Stephen's generous sponsorship comes at a pivotal time for us and we cannot thank him enough for his support."
